#fashion | monochromatic vibes

seasons change, as do we. these past few months have been filled with adventure after adventure. samantha and i moved into our new apartment back in may and have not gotten wi-fi set up. i know, right?! it's the 21st century; how can you not have wi-fi? as you can imagine, limited access to the world wide web has made my blogging life non-existent. i have adopted this philosophy of 'no excuses' and i am going to apply that directly to my blogging venture, as well as my photography passion, specifically. the world is ours for the taking, as it has been said, and there is no reason not to follow all of our passions. having said that, let this post serve as a 'reset' of sorts.

over the past little while i have been playing around with monochromatic and monotone looks. i did not wake up one day and say, hey, i'm only wearing all black from now on; rather, one day i ended up in all black and decided it works for me. i think this is reflective of my current state of life. by choosing singularly toned looks, one is given the chance to have a clean base on which to later introduce splashes of colors and contrast. for now i want to decide on fits and pieces that will continue to define my specific sense of style. from there i will piece together threads of trend and influence.

for this specific look i stayed true to my typical skinny jean-knit-layer template that is my easy go to. refined graphics are definitely of-the-moment and it is always appropriate to wear your patriotism on your sleeve. you know i never shy away from layers - even in the dead of summer, but with fall literally around the corner i chose this blazer-hoodie combo. you really get the best of both worlds. the 'hoodie' zips out so that you can have a more refined look if you choose. i'll share an upcoming post featuring that option.
