blade tank | part 2
in my last blog post (blade tank | part 1), i told you about stepping out of my comfort zone to purchase a graphic tank and incorporate it into my wardrobe. in that post, i showed you a very trend-forward look. as i was putting the look together and choosing the layering pieces, i thought to myself, 'how would i wear this everyday?' you see, layering is important to me. all the time. i love knits! but, i don't always love how i feel (or look) wearing an un-layered knit. there are few exceptions.
as i was choosing pieces from my closet, i couldn't deny my love of denim-on-denim. before working for guess, i had never consciously chosen to pair denim with denim. in fact, i was very much against it. but, once i began working for a denim destination such as guess, i began to embrace this idea in order to be 'brand.' who knew that would change my style dna so much? now, it seems, it is rare that i do not have some sort of denim combination put together. so with that, i grabbed my favorite pair of skinny jeans, a charcoal chambray shirt and my trusty red sneakers and i was good to go.
most days it feels like i am constantly on the run. when i put together an outfit i work to make it trendy, but i also work to make it comfortable and somewhat practical. i'll admit, sometimes fashion can't be 100% 'practical.' but i do feel like it can to some degree. which is why i paired my look the way i did. the denim-on-denim makes a statement, while the graphic of the tank adds interest. since my jeans are light-washed and my shirt was gray (over a black and white tank), i opted to add a pop of color by wearing red sneakers. the end result paid off. i hope you think so, too.
take two on the blade tank.

it was fun to get outside my box and be creative with how to make this tank work for me. that's what i love about styling. style is about finding pieces that work for you and incorporating them into your existing wardrobe. as always, i welcome your thoughts and feed back!
