#ootd | a pop of color

my favorite thing about style is taking pieces from all of my favorite brands and blending them together. for this look, i kept a basic base. skinny jeans, a button down, and then dressed it up by adding a vest and a tie. to elevate my look from a classic basic to an updated cool, i added a huckstraps belt (with a contrasting huck) and a pair of turquoise cole haan's. i also opted for a pop of whimsy by choosing a polka dot sock, and showing it off by cuffing my jeans a little higher.

the trick to shopping is to buy pieces that can transcend trends. and trendy pieces are great to buy, just make sure they are complementary to the staples already hanging in your closet.
